A couple of Riot Games VALORANT team members joined TimTheTatman’s Twitch stream to answer some fan questions regarding the game. One of the questions was whether the game will be available on console or not.
During Tim’s stream, many of his viewers were asking questions in regards to the new first-person shooter game. One specific question that Tim asked the VALORANT team was if the game will be playable on the console platform.
Lead game designer, Trevor “Classick” Romleski answered Tim’s question stating that they are currently focusing on the PC platform, although there aren’t any plans as of yet to move to console, Riot Games is open to having their new game playable on other platforms.
“So our focus right now is on PC, we’re open to exploring new opportunities for other platforms but for the time being what our current focus is on the PC platform.”
There is hope in the future that we’ll see VALORANT on the new generation consoles, the Playstation 5 and Xbox series X, or even on mobile as Trevor didn’t specifically say they’re open for new opportunities on “console.”
Mobile gaming, especially in Asian countries is widely popular and games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, PUBG, and Apex Legends have done remarkably well on the mobile platform, so we could see VALORANT on mobile on the future.
