Team Liquid have signed former CS: GO pro Elias ‘Jamppi’ Olkkonen to their Valorant roster.
Jamppi left CS: GO for VALORANT after a legal battle with Valve concerning an allegedly false VAC ban that prohibited him from competing in Valve-sponsored tournaments.
Jamppi filed a lawsuit against Counter-Strike developers seeking compensation of €268,092 for missed earnings and for his VAC ban to be lifted.
He will replace Valorant in-game leader Adam ‘ec1s’ Eccles and will take over the Jett/Operator role on the team.
“I hope I can bring this team up to the new levels, and I think it’s going to be very effective for us,” Jamppi said in Liquid’s announcement.
Team Liquid missed the top 4 spot in Challengers 1 and failed to get out of the open qualifiers in Challengers 2. They are hoping to reverse their fortunes in the EU Valorant Champions Tour.
Liquid’s VALORANT roster now consists of Travis “L1NK” Mendoza, Dom “soulcas” Sulcas, James “Kryptix” Affleck, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, and Elias ‘Jamppi’ Olkkonen.
