Professional League of Legends player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok will remain as a player for SK Telecom T1 (SKT T1).
According to the League of Legends Global Contract Database, Faker has extended his contract with the popular South Korean team SKT T1 until 2021. Although the information is officially in Riot’s database, SKT T1 hasn’t officially announced the contract extension yet.
Fans can now rest assured that their favorite player will still play as a mid laner for the South Korean team. SKT T1 has won the League of Legends World Championship 3 times, and Faker back in 2015-2016 was hailed as the best player in the world.
Although SKT T1 hasn’t been performing as well as they’re expected to and had a disappointing defeat at the Worlds 2019, Faker will still represent the team that he has played for since 2013.
SKT T1 managed to make it to Worlds 2019, with an outstanding performance from Faker, but the team came up short after going against G2 Esports and were defeated with a score of 3-1.
SKT T1 players Kim “Khan” Dong-ha and Kim “Clid” Taemin along with coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun, are being allowed to explore free agency, it’s still not confirmed whether they’ll remain on the team or move on.
