Sony Announces PlayStation 5 Event On September 16

Sony has announced that it will be holding a live stream on Wednesday, September 16 that’ll reveal new information on the PlayStation 5.
The event will be a 40-minute broadcast that’ll showcase “updates on the latest titles from the Worldwide studios and our world-class development partners.”

According to the PlayStation Blog post, the company says it plans to show “games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!)” during Wednesday’s live stream. The PlayStation 5 Showcase will be broadcasted on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT on September 16.

With Sony’s competitor already revealing the release date and price of the Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation fans are hopeful that Sony might talk more than just the upcoming PS5 games during the event and might address the release date or the price of the next-gen console.

Sony’s first major PlayStation 5 event was held in June, where the company revealed the design of the PS5, as well as some of the games coming to PS5: Gran Turismo 7Ratchet & Clank: Rift ApartResident Evil VillageSpider-Man: Miles Morales, a remake of Demon’s Souls, and Horizon Forbidden West

The PlayStation 5 is expected to launch during the holiday of 2020, an exact date has yet to be revealed.
