The mobile version of the popular game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has been downloaded 600 million times from all over the world.

The news was announced today on Twitter by PUBG mobile, thanking their player base for supporting the game.

The game has been popular on mobile for quite a while, especially in India and Asia, where the market’s demand for mobile games is at its highest. The game being free is definitely a big reason for its success, anyone can download the game to test it out, unlike the PC version.

PUBG mobile had around 400 million players back in July 2018, while the PC version had around 50 million players. Since then the mobile version has grown by 200 million players, and it’s safe to assume that it still exceeds the PC version by a long shot.

The game is still expected to continue growing as the mobile game market expands. Over 30 billion dollars were spent on mobile games in just the first half of 2019, and many video game companies have been shifting towards mobile gaming.
