PlayerUknown’s Battlegrounds will be free to play this weekend giving players a chance to try out the game.
PUBG is making the game free to play this weekend on Steam store, which will give new players a chance to try it out, until Monday, June 8 at 12 pm CT. The game will also be on sale for 50-percent off during that same period.
The progress you make during the free weekend will carry over to the full game once you purchase it.
Players will have access to everything in the game except for the in-game store. This means that players during the free weekend will be able to team up with other players and even play the new ranked mode, something most games don’t allow. For example, Overwatch does not allow free weekend players to access the ranked competitive game mode.
PUBG is without a doubt one of the popular battle royal games, with its player base reaching a peak of 3.2 million in January 2018. The game has had a decrease in player base since that but the company is hoping their move would bring in more new fresh players to the game.
