Nintendo revealed that their lifetime sales of the Nintendo Switch have passed 50 million units in the year 2019.
According to Nintendo’s financial report, as of December 31, 52.48 million units of the Nintendo Switch have been sold since its release in March 2017.
This makes the Nintendo Switch the fastest-selling device of this generation, it took 34 months to pass the 50 million units sold, while it took the PlayStation 4 37 months to achieve the same number.
The original Switch model sold 47.3 million units while the Switch Lite sold 5.19 units.
Nintendo has been successful in the year 2019 and the report proves that they’re going strong, with 10.8 million Nintendo Switch units sold in the holiday period.
The top Nintendo Switch titles are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which has sold 22.96 million units, followed by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with 17.68 million units, coming in third is Super Mario Odyssey with 16.59 million units, fourth is The Legend of Zelda with 16.34 million units, lastly, Pokémon: Sword and Pokémon: Shield which sold 16.09 million.
Nintendo stated that their net sales through the third quarter have reached $3.8 billion, this includes console and game sales. Nintendo’s sales last year for the same period was $3.7 billion.
