NieR: Automata, the 2017 action RPG title managed to hit a new milestone selling over 5 million units, making it the best-selling game ever from the developer Platinum Games.
The announcement was posted via the game’s official Twitter account.
“The cumulative worldwide shipment and download sales of “NieR: Automata” has exceeded 5 million units.”
The post states that the count is made up of the game’s global shipment and download sales. NieR: Automata made its first launch on both the PS4 and PC where it had a major success. A year later, the game launched on the Xbox one in 2018.
In 2019, NieR: Automata received the ‘Game of the YoHRa Edition’ which comes with all of the available DLCs. There was even a crossover with Square Enix’s MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.
The NieR franchise is receiving a new entry which will be a remaster of 2010’s NieR Replicant, titled NieR Replicant Ver 1.22. The game is set to release next April, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. As for the next-gen versions, it has yet to be announced.
