Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy 14 has hit a new milestone of over 22 million accounts registered worldwide.
The popular MMORPG continues its successful path as it hits a new milestone just barely eight months after it reached its previous one.
The number of registered users Square Enix shared does include those that registered for the free trial as well.
The Final Fantasy 14 free trial includes access to the game until the end of the Heavensward expansion. However, it limits access to some basic features such as the use of the market board or joining a Free Company.
Producer and director Naoki Yoshida confirmed the achievement in the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE stream. New information was shared on the upcoming patch 5.5, named Death Unto Dawn, which will be divided into two parts, the first being released on April 13 and the second one in late May.
The seven-year-old MMORPG doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, according to the game’s director, it will have at least five more years of content. The game will also be playable on the PlayStation 5, a Beta version will arrive on April 13, 2021.
