CD Projekt RED released interesting information, Cyberpunk 2077 will include real religion regardless if it offends people or not.
They stated the following:
“Our vision of Cyberpunk is not to describe an alternative world but a continuity of our world. Some things will look like our current reality. For example, Christianity is present in the game and will even have a faction. We will not avoid any subject, even if they may offend the sensitivity of some.”
The developers won’t tell the players whether religions are good or bad, focusing more on presenting religion and how they function.
We’re not sure how far they are willing to go, and whether or not they’re going to include religions other than Christianity such as Islam and Judaism, and how they will portrait them, positively, negatively or neutral.
Mocking any religion won’t be the best marketing plan, it will drive potential customers from purchasing the game and some countries might go to the extent of completely banning the game.
Nonetheless, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting more and more impressive the more knowledge we get on the game, something that will definitely attract players to try it out.
Cyberpunk is set to be released on 16th April 2020 for Xbox One, PC and PS4.
