Activision announced today that Call of Duty Mobile will be released on Android and iOS devices on the 1st of October.
The mobile game announced on March was developed by Tencent’s Timi Studio, a company that has vast experience in developing multiplayer games on mobile.
The game will be free to play, with Multiplayer and Battle Royal modes. Activision stated that players will be able to compete in Call of Duty classics like Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, Domination, and Free-For-All.
For Battle Royal mode, games will host up to 100 players in the same game, you can play solo, two players and in teams of four players.
There will also be vehicles to drive in Battle Royale, including an ATV, light helicopter, SUV and a tactical raft.
In addition, the game will be available on iOS and Android devices, and in all countries where Google Play and App Store are supported with the exception of mainland China, Vietnam, and Belgium.
Mobile gaming has been rapidly growing and as such Activision has set their eyes on a new market. Activision has stated that they have plans to focus on mobile gaming for the future.
Call of Duty will have to compete with other first-person shooter games on mobile such as PUBG and Fortnite. With Battle Royal games still dominating the gaming industry both games have shown overwhelming success on mobile as well.
