Dr Disrespect breaks his silence after his Twitch account was permanently banned three weeks ago. He still doesn’t know the reason behind Twitch’s decision.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Dr Disrespect addressed the permanent ban of his Twitch account, claiming that he still was not given a reason from Twitch, “honestly, we just don’t know,” he said.
“It was a total shock,” the Doc said. “Imagine showing up to work and the doors are closed and you can’t get inside. You’re going, ‘What’s going on?’ And you’ve been told you’ve been fired. But you haven’t been told the reason why. We just weren’t given an answer.”
According to The Post, Dr Disrespect felt something was off while watching a friend stream on Twitch. Features that usually are available for streamers were missing from his account. He emailed Twitch which the company “informed him of their action but did not provide a reason.”
“I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety,” the Doc said. “You know, my wife and I both, this is our livelihood. We worked really hard to get to this point… Let’s just say I’ve felt all of the emotions that you could possibly feel.”
In an interview with PCGamer, the Doc confirmed that his days on Twitch are officially over, but said that his next move is in the works.
He said: “Obviously, for legal counsel, I have to be careful here. But I can say, however, that I will not be returning to Twitch, so, I mean, that’s it.”
The Doc seems to have a few options he’s considering, either streaming on his own website championsclub.gg or even moving to other streaming platforms, YouTube or Facebook Gaming. Both of which the Doc has a massive following on. He also is considering legal action against Twitch.
For the time being, we don’t have an exact date on when the Doc will be returning to streaming, we can only wait until he makes a decision on his next step.
