Electronic Arts’ EA shared a lot in regards to Apex Legends during its recent earnings call, the company’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, shared plans about expanding Apex Legends on new platforms, which includes mobile.
Wilson stated that the company is committed to bringing Apex legends to “mobile, new platforms and new geographies,” especially with the game’s success and now passing 70 million players.
He also said that EA is launching an Apex competitive gaming program, the details for which will be revealed soon.
EA’s CFO and COO Blake Jorgensen talked more about Apex legends on mobile, giving fans a release date for the game on new platforms, geographies, and on mobile in the 2021 fiscal year. The 2021 fiscal year begins on Oct. 1, 2020.
Apex Legends is currently available on PC, Xbox 360, and PS4, with the game now coming to mobile on both IOS and Android, it’s still unknown if cross-platform will be available. Apex Legends is also expected to be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett when they launch late 2020.
The game coming to mobile is not a surprise to fans at all, with many popular games such as PUBG, Fortnite, and Call of Duty making an outstanding success on mobile and the popularity of mobile games in Asian countries, it was well expected for the successful game Apex Legends to expand on another platform.
